Cyprus Sees Significant Rise in House Prices in Q2 2026

Nicosia:House prices in Cyprus rose by 5.46% and rents increased by around 4% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the annual average for 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the data was published by Eurostat, which also reported that across the EU, house prices increased by 4.1% while rents went up by 2.6% during the same period. It was noted that house prices rose faster than rents in 18 EU countries based on the comparison of the second quarter of 2026 with the 2025 annual average.

The countries with the most significant increases in house prices included Bulgaria at 14.3%, Portugal at 14.2%, and Lithuania at 12.8%. Conversely, Finland and France were the only countries where house prices decreased, with reductions of 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively.

Rents increased in all EU countries when comparing the second quarter of 2026 to the previous year's average. The highest rent increases were seen in Romania at 41.2%, Croatia at 22.1%, and Slovenia at 10.2%. The smallest rent increases occurred in Estonia and Finland at 0.1% each, and Luxembourg at 1.2%.
