Cyprus Sees Calm Seas with Smooth Sailing Conditions Expected

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area stretching 8 kilometers seawards, predicting mainly fine weather from the morning of December 13 until the morning of December 14, 2025. The region is experiencing weak low pressure, resulting in generally clear skies with occasional localized cloudiness. According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure is recorded at 1018 hPa, with good visibility prevailing throughout the forecast period. The sea surface temperature remains steady at 22°C. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for this period, indicating stable conditions across the coastal waters of Cyprus. For the west coast, the winds are expected to shift from northeast to southeast in the morning, transitioning to west to northwest in the afternoon, and returning to northeast to southeast at night, all at a Beaufort scale of 3, with the sea state ranging from smooth to slight. Similarly, the south coast will experience northwest to northeast winds at Be aufort 3, changing slightly offshore at night to 3 to 4, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. The east coast will see morning winds from west to northwest, becoming variable and later turning northwest to north in the afternoon, with a return to northwest to northeast at night, near the coast shifting to west to northwest, all at Beaufort 3 with smooth to slight sea conditions. Meanwhile, the north coast will have southeast to south winds in the morning, gradually turning variable and then northwest to northeast by the afternoon, with nighttime winds returning to southeast to south, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state throughout.
