Cyprus Sea Weather Forecast Indicates Calm Conditions with Slight Winds

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus for the period from 0600 on January 4, 2026, to 0600 on January 5, 2026. The current atmospheric pressure is noted at 1027 hPa, indicating a high-pressure system affecting the region. The weather is expected to be mainly cloudy at times, with good visibility and a sea surface temperature of 20°C. Importantly, there are no weather warnings currently in effect. According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast details for each coastal area are as follows: On the West Coast, winds in the morning will range from northeast to southeast at 3 to 4 Beaufort scale, increasing locally to 4. The state of the sea will be smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will range from northeast to southeast at 3 to 4, locally increasing to 4 to 5, with the sea remaining smooth to slight but locally slight. During the night, winds will shift to northeast to east at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, maintaining a smooth to slig ht condition, locally slight. For the South Coast, morning winds will blow from north to northeast at 3 to 4, soon reaching 4, with the sea moving from smooth to slight, soon becoming slight. Afternoon winds will increase to north to northeast at 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, resulting in a slight sea, locally slight to moderate. At night, the wind will persist from north to northeast at 4 to 5, locally 5, maintaining a slight to moderate sea state. On the East Coast, the morning will experience northeast to east winds at 3 to 4, soon reaching 4, with the sea remaining slight. Afternoon conditions will see winds from northeast to east at 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5 locally, with the sea remaining slight, at times locally slight to moderate. At night, the wind will be northeast at 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, with a slight to moderate sea state. Finally, for the North Coast, morning winds will range from northeast to southeast at 3 to 4, soon increasing to 4, with a slight sea. In the afternoon, northeast to east winds at 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, will result in a slight sea, locally slight to moderate. At night, winds will shift to east to southeast at 3 to 4, locally reaching 5, with a slight to moderate sea state.
