Cyprus Sea Area Forecast Highlights Low Pressure Influence

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seawards from Cyprus, indicating that weak low pressure is currently affecting the region. The forecast is valid from 0600 on May 1, 2026, until 0600 on May 2, 2026, and provides detailed information on expected weather conditions.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast's issuance is recorded at 1012 hPa. While the weather is expected to remain mainly fine, there will be instances of locally increased low cloud coverage during nighttime and morning hours. This may result in local mist and a risk of fog patches, potentially reducing visibility from good to moderate or poor, and very poor in fog conditions.

The sea surface temperature is measured at 20°C, and no warnings have been issued for the forecast period. The winds in the area are reported using the Beaufort scale, as per the standard practice of the department's forecasts.
