Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating mainly fine weather conditions for the period from 1800 on September 11, 2026, to 1800 on September 12, 2026. However, tonight and into the morning, there is a possibility of locally increased low cloud coverage and a risk of local mist over the eastern and southern areas, impacting visibility from good to moderate or poor in mist.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area 8 kilometers seawards and notes that the seasonal low pressure is affecting the region, with an atmospheric pressure recorded at 1011 hPa at the time of the forecast issuance. The sea surface temperature remains warm at 29°C, and no warnings have been issued for this period.

The forecast details the wind and sea conditions for the different coasts around Cyprus. On the West Coast, winds will vary from Northwest to North at night, changing to Southwest to West by morning, and remaining West to Northwest by the afternoon, with the sea state generally being Smooth to Slight. Similarly, the South Coast will experience Southwest to Northwest winds at night, transitioning to Southeast to Southwest by morning, and Southwest to West in the afternoon, with the sea state shifting from Smooth to Slight. The East Coast will see winds changing from Southwest to Northwest at night to South to Southwest by afternoon, with the sea consistently Smooth to Slight. Lastly, the North Coast will have winds from Southwest to West at night, moving to Southeast to Southwest by morning, and Southwest to Northwest in the afternoon, maintaining a Smooth to Slight sea state.
