Jakarta:The number of trips taken by residents of Cyprus for both personal and professional reasons rose to 3,815,322 in 2025, compared to 3,366,862 in 2024.

According to Cyprus News Agency, data from Eurostat shows an overall increase in travel across the European Union, with residents making a total of 1.20 billion trips in 2025. This represents a 1.4% rise from the previous year, equating to 17 million additional trips.

Within the EU, 848 million trips were domestic, accounting for 70% of all trips. Meanwhile, 264 million, or 22%, were trips to foreign destinations within the EU. Overall, 92% of all trips by EU residents were to destinations within the Union.

Romania had the highest share of domestic trips among Member States at 89%, followed by Spain at 87%, and Greece, France, and Portugal each at 85%.
