Nicosia: Cyprus has repatriated 119 third-country nationals who were residing illegally in the country as part of ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration, according to a press release by the Police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration.
According to Cyprus News Agency, since January 1, 2026, a total of 5,288 foreigners illegally residing in Cyprus have been repatriated through both voluntary and mandatory return procedures. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to manage and reduce illegal immigration in the country.
The press release also highlighted a decrease in illegal arrivals for the year 2026, with 856 irregular migrants recorded so far. This is a significant drop compared to the same period last year, which saw 1,299 migrants arriving illegally in Cyprus. The authorities continue to monitor and manage the situation to ensure the security and stability of the region.
