Cyprus records five deaths and 3,695 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

Cyprus Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that five more patients have died of COVID-19, while 3,695 new coronavirus cases have been recorded out of 133,874 tests. The positivity rate stands at 2.76%.

The total number of deaths is now 883 and the number of confirmed cases 338,517. A total of 120 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals of whom 23 in a critical condition (9 intubated in an Intensive Treatment Unit and one in an Intensive Treatment Unit but not intubated, and 13 in an Increased Care Unit).

All five patients who have died are women. A 78 year old died on March 4, an 87 year old on March 7 and an 84 year old, an 85 year old and an 86 year old passed away on March 8.

The percentage of COVID-19 patients who are hospitalized and have not been vaccinated is 53.34%.
