Nicosia: Cyprus is rapidly establishing itself as a significant innovation hub, achieving a global ranking of 15th and securing the top spot in Southern Europe, as per the Innovators Business Environment Index (IBEI) 2026 by StartupBlink, announced by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).
According to Cyprus News Agency, key achievements highlighted by the RIF include Cyprus ranking 1st in the European Union and 10th globally in terms of Taxation. Additionally, Cyprus holds the 2nd position in the EU for Business Incentives, suggesting favorable fiscal and financial conditions. The country is also among the top 25% of Global Leaders for crucial indicators like corporate tax, capital gains, and dividend tax rates.
The RIF emphasized that this high ranking underscores Cyprus's strong foundations for further growth. The nation offers a competitive environment for innovation, with the RIF's initiatives supporting scientific and commercial projects effectively.
The IBEI Index considers over 125 countries, assessing 30 parameters that focus on operational ease, incentives, and global market perception.
