Cyprus Provides Pound 92,000 in Humanitarian Aid for Vanuatu Earthquake Victims

Nicosia: Cyprus has provided pound 92,000 in total to UNICEF and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) as humanitarian assistance to the people affected by the earthquake in Vanuatu in December 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Cyprus has responded to the appeal of the two organisations to support the population affected, including vulnerable children and women, by the earthquake in Vanuatu.

“We stand ready to continue supporting the ones in need and especially countries that belong to our Commonwealth family, aiming for a better and stronger future,” the Ministry states, and thanks UNICEF and UNOCHA for their valuable work in providing humanitarian and development aid to children worldwide, as well as tackling humanitarian emergencies across the globe, including in Vanuatu.
