Cyprus Project Winner of CoE Drug Prevention Prize

Nicosia: A Cypriot project for drug prevention earned top honours along with two Portuguese projects for this year’s Drug Prevention Prize, which recognises outstanding drug and addiction prevention projects that involve young people.

According to Cyprus News Agency, since its launch in 2004, the Pompidou Group Prevention Prize has been awarded every two years to such innovative projects. The winning project is called Sistema Cyprus and it was selected out of 27 applications from 12 countries – and only one applicant from Cyprus, which won.

Each of the three winning projects will receive a trophy, a diploma and £6,000 to support further development of their projects. The two other winning projects come from Portugal and are Crisscross and Gabinete de Apoio Psocossocial.
