Cyprus President pays official visit to Greece

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades pays an official visit to Athens today, Friday 2 September.

Anastasiades will meet with the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at 10.30 on Friday morning at the Maximos Mansion.

The Cypriot President will be accompanied by Government Spokesperson Marios Pelecanos, Deputy Minister to the President Petros Demetriou, and the Director of the President’s Office Pantelis Pantelides.

After the meeting, the Cypriot President and the Greek Prime Minister will proceed to Elefsina Airport, where he will receive, in a special ceremony, the civilian aircraft donated by the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Cyprus for the official transport of the Presidency and members of the Council of Ministers. The aircraft will also be used for urgent medical transportation.

On the Cypriot side, the ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Defence Charalambos Petrides, the Government Spokesperson, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Chief of the National Guard Demokritos Zervakis, the Director of the Office of the President, and officials of the National Guard.

After the ceremony, President Anastasiades and the Cypriot government’s delegation will board the aircraft to return to Cyprus.
