Cyprus President Engages in Talks with International Paralympic Committee President

Nicosia: President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, discussed issues concerning the Paralympic movement in Cyprus with the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons, and the members of the Executive Board, Andreas Roumpas, Marianna Hatziantoniou, and Andreas Theofylaktou.

According to Cyprus News Agency, during the meeting, which took place at the Presidential Palace, issues related to the Paralympic movement in Cyprus, the training of athletes, coaches, and administrative staff were addressed. They also spoke about the upcoming Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028 and the participation of Cypriot athletes.

They also discussed the possibility of the Cyprus Paralympic Committee and the Republic of Cyprus undertaking an event organisation that would strengthen Cyprus’ position on the international Paralympic map.

According to the Committee, the President of the Republic ‘once again praised the work of the Cyprus Paralympic Committee, demonstrating sensitivity for everything related to the development of Paralympism in Cyprus, and his true interest in sports by equalising Olympians and Paralympians’.
