Nicosia: President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, engaged in a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa on Sunday morning. During the call, they exchanged views on developments in the wider region.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Cyprus Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, stated in a post on X that the Republic of Cyprus is in constant consultation with the EU and its partners, keeping a close watch on regional developments. He highlighted that the discussion between the two politicians also touched upon the potential humanitarian role Cyprus can play. This includes facilitating the safe repatriation of European citizens and third-country nationals from the region through the Republic.
