Cyprus’ three paralympic athletes, namely Karolina Pelendritou who is the flag bearer, Maria Markou and Viktoras Pentaras along with their coaches Stelios Kakavoyiannis, Demetris Ioannides and Elias Agapiou will take part in the opening ceremony parade for the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Head of Cyprus team Andreas Theofylaktou has told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the organizers set a limit of six people for each nation’s team and therefore he decided to give up his position so that all aCypriot athletes could participate.
He told the Cyprus News Agency that this is mostly a decision based on ethics , noting that there was a strict limit of six people in the parade. This is the right thing to do, he said.
?he paralympics in Paris take place between August 28 and September 8.
