Nicosia: The Cyprus Tennis Federation presented the National Padel Men’s and Women’s teams on Friday, which are set to participate in the FIP EURO PADEL CUP European championship in Madrid from July 7 to 13. This marks the inaugural participation of Cyprus Padel national teams in a European Championship.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the national teams were selected based on the athletes’ performances in three qualifying championships held in Cyprus. The teams, each comprising seven men and seven women, will be guided by coach Pablo Bustamante.
The FIP EURO PADEL CUP features two initial phases followed by the Final 8 event. Cyprus, currently without an evaluated ranking, will compete in Phase 1 with hopes of advancing to Phase 2, as noted in the press release.
