Nicosia: Cyprus Football Association has announced the participation of the Cyprus National eSports Football Team in the VPG (Virtual Pro Gaming) 11v11 World Cup, which begins on Sunday, June 22. The VPG World Cup is recognized as a leading digital football tournament featuring an 11 vs. 11 format, where each player on the virtual pitch is controlled by a real participant, drawing top national eSports teams from across the globe.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Cyprus national team is composed of 18 players, all hailing from the top Cypriot Pro Clubs with extensive experience in both domestic and international competitions. The association emphasized that this initiative seeks to promote e-sports on the island and inspire new generations to engage in e-sports responsibly and professionally.
Matches will be broadcast live on the official channels of the Cyprus Football Association on TikTok and Facebook, as well as on the official channels of Virtual Pro Gaming. Viewers can also expect live commentary and access to match statistics throughout the tournament.
