Cyprus Meteorology Department Issues Sea Area Forecast for Coastal Regions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding the island, covering a period from the evening of November 4, 2025, to the evening of November 5, 2025. The forecast, which extends 8 kilometers seawards, predicts mainly fine weather across the coastal areas, despite a weak low-pressure system beginning to affect the region. Atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast release was recorded at 1016 hPa.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to remain good, with no warnings issued for the forecast period. Sea surface temperatures are currently at 24°C. The forecast details specific wind patterns and sea conditions for various coastal areas of Cyprus, measured using the Beaufort scale.

For the West Coast, the night will see winds from the northwest to northeast at force 3, occasionally reaching northwest to north at force 3 to 4 offshore, with sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight. In the morning, winds will shift to southwest to northwest at force 3, maintaining the smooth to slight sea state. By afternoon, winds will change to west to northwest at force 3 to 4, with sea conditions remaining smooth to slight.

On the South Coast, nighttime winds are expected to be northwest to northeast at force 3, gradually transitioning to north to northeast at force 3 to 4, with a smooth to slight sea state. Morning winds will continue from the north to northeast at force 3 to 4, with local areas reaching force 4, resulting in a slight sea state. In the afternoon, winds will shift to northeast to east at force 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea remaining slight.

The East Coast will experience nighttime winds from north to northeast at force 3 to 4, resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions. Morning winds will be from the northeast at force 3 to 4, with some areas locally reaching force 4, maintaining a slight sea state. Afternoon winds will transition to northeast to east at force 4, with offshore areas occasionally reaching force 4 to 5, and the sea state remaining slight.

For the North Coast, nighttime winds are expected to be from north to northeast at force 3 to 4, with areas near the coast experiencing winds from southeast to southwest at force 3, resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions. Morning winds will blow from the northeast at force 3 to 4, with local areas reaching force 4, maintaining a slight sea state. By afternoon, winds will continue from the northeast at force 4, with some areas reaching 4 to 5, keeping the sea state slight.
