Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a period from 0600 on March 11, 2025, until 0600 on March 12, 2025. The forecast area extends 8 kilometers seawards and is influenced by weak high pressure, promising mainly fine weather with a risk of increased low cloud and local mist initially.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast’s issuance was measured at 1021 hPa. Visibility is expected to be generally good but may become moderate to poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature is currently at 18°C, and there are no warnings issued for the area.
For the West Coast, the morning winds will be from the northeast to southeast at Beaufort scale 3, gradually shifting to southeast to southwest. The state of the sea will be smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will change to southwest to northwest at scale 3, with some areas experiencing west to northwest winds at scale 3 to
4, maintaining a smooth to slight sea condition. By night, the wind will shift to northeast at scale 3, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.
On the South Coast, morning winds will initially be from the northwest to northeast at scale 3, gradually shifting to southeast to southwest. The sea will be smooth to slight. In the afternoon, the wind will vary between southeast to southwest at scale 3 to 4, gradually changing locally to southwest to west, with sea conditions staying smooth to slight. At night, winds will shift to northwest at scale 3, and the sea will remain smooth to slight.
The East Coast will experience morning winds from northwest to northeast at scale 3, gradually shifting to northeast to southeast. Sea conditions will be smooth to slight. During the afternoon, winds will vary between southeast to southwest at scale 3, occasionally reaching scale 3 to 4 locally, with smooth to slight sea conditions. At night, winds will transition to west to northwest at scale 3, with the sea remaining smoo
th to slight.
For the North Coast, the morning will see southeast to southwest winds at scale 3, gradually shifting to southwest to northwest, with smooth to slight sea conditions. In the afternoon, winds will be west to northwest at scale 3, maintaining a smooth to slight sea. By night, winds will shift to southeast at scale 3, with the sea staying smooth to slight.
