Cyprus’ Maritime Corridor a “Critical Part” of Humanitarian Pipeline, Dujarric Says

Nicosia: ‘The maritime humanitarian corridor of Cyprus is a critical part of the humanitarian pipeline,’ UN Secretary-General’s Spokesperson St©phane Dujarric stated Wednesday. He was responding to a question from Cyprus News Agency on the matter, noting that ‘it resumed yesterday.’

According to Cyprus News Agency, the operation is being led by the Republic of Cyprus and supported by the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as part of the framework designed by Security Council Resolution 2720. Dujarric highlighted the unique advantage of the Cypriot corridor, explaining that Israeli customs clearance occurs in Cyprus, specifically in Limassol. This process is expected to expedite the release of items that arrive at the port of Ashdod and facilitate their transport to Gaza swiftly.
