Nicosia: Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Marinos Moushouttas will travel to Luxembourg, where he will chair the final meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting comes at a time when the European Union faces major challenges, with strengthening competitiveness, employment, and social cohesion high on the bloc's agenda. Particular emphasis will be placed on fair labour mobility and the revision of the framework for the coordination of social security systems. Under the Cyprus Presidency, negotiations on the file were successfully concluded, marking the resolution of an issue that had remained outstanding for years, the statement concludes.
