Cyprus is in favour of the EU standing in support of Egypt’s efforts to ensure sufficient food supplies, President Nicos Anastasiades has said following a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
In a post on Twitter about the telephone conversation, President Anastasiades says they discussed “bilateral relations, regional developments and impact of Ukraine war on global food security.”
“Ongoing conflict is deepening food insecurity in Egypt on unprecedented scale. Cyprus in favour of EU standing in support of Egypt’s efforts to ensure sufficient supplies,” he adds.
