Nicosia:Today marks a day of celebration in Cyprus, as the nation commemorates its Independence Day. House President Annita Demetriou emphasized the accompanying responsibility to protect and liberate Cyprus, speaking to the press after the military parade in Nicosia.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Demetriou highlighted the importance of deepening strategic partnerships, particularly through close collaboration with Greece, to bolster the National Guard and enhance the defense and security of the Republic of Cyprus.

She expressed pride in the military parade and acknowledged Greece's visible support, underscored by the presence of Greek Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, during the celebrations on the island.
