New york: Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is traveling to New York to accompany President Nikos Christodoulides during the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Kombos will engage in numerous diplomatic activities alongside the President.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Kombos will participate in a series of multilateral meetings. These include the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the European Union, the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the EU and CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States), and the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth. Additionally, he is set to attend a dinner hosted by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio with his counterparts.
Throughout the High-Level Week, Kombos will hold bilateral discussions with various counterparts. The aim is to strengthen Cyprus’ bilateral relations with countries from all geographical regions. He will also provide briefings on the priorities of the Cyprus EU Presidency scheduled for the first half of 2026, updates on the Cyprus issue, and other multilateral and bilateral matters of interest. Trilateral ministerial meetings with countries from the region will also be part of the agenda.
