Cyprus Experiences Partly Cloudy Weather with Isolated Showers

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering an expanse of 8 kilometers seawards. The forecast, which spans the period from 0600 on January 23, 2026, to 0600 on January 24, 2026, highlights a weak low-pressure system affecting the region, resulting in partly cloudy weather with isolated showers. According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure in the area at the time of the forecast's issuance was recorded at 1010 hPa. Visibility is generally good but is expected to be moderate during showers. The sea surface temperature remains steady at 18°C, and no weather warnings have been issued for the period. The forecast breaks down the expected conditions across various coasts of Cyprus. On the West Coast, winds in the morning are predicted to be East to Southeast at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate. In the afternoon, the wind will shift to Southeast, increasing to 4 to 5, while maintainin g slight to moderate sea states. By night, winds will return to East to Southeast at 4, with similar sea conditions. For the South Coast, morning winds are expected from the Northeast at 4 to 5, creating slight to moderate seas. The afternoon will see a shift from Northeast to Southeast winds at 3 to 4, with slight to moderate conditions persisting. At night, the Northeast to East winds will remain at 3 to 4, resulting in slight seas. The East Coast will experience Northeast winds at 4 to 5 in the morning, along with moderate sea conditions. These winds will maintain a strength of 4 in the afternoon, with the sea remaining moderate. At night, the wind direction will change to Northeast to East at 4, with a transition to slight to moderate seas. On the North Coast, the morning will bring Northeast to Southeast winds at 4 to 5, with near-coast areas experiencing slightly lower wind speeds of 3 to 4. The sea will be moderate, with slight to moderate conditions near the coast. In the afternoon, the winds will remain Northeast to Southeast at 4 to 5, with slight to moderate sea states. By night, the winds will shift to Northeast to East at 4 to 5, with moderate seas prevailing.
