Cyprus’ Diplomatic Leaders Convene in Bahrain for Strategic Discussions

Manama: A meeting of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions (HDMs) of the Republic of Cyprus in the Middle East and the Gulf region was held on Monday in Manama, Bahrain. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the gathering, which was organized by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Embassy in Manama.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the HDMs were briefed by Constantinos Kombos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on foreign policy issues pertinent to the region. This briefing was followed by an exchange of views among the participants.

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, informed the HDMs about the preparations underway for the upcoming Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, set to commence on January 1, 2026.

The diplomatic representatives also took part in thematic sessions with analysts from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), engaging in interactive dialogues to exchange views.

The event concluded with a cultural visit to the Bahrain National Museum and a reception hosted by Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
