Cyprus Defence Minister attends military parade in Athens marking anniversary of 25 March

Cyprus Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides attended the grand military parade held on Friday in Athens to mark of the start of the war for Greek Independence from Ottoman rule on March 25, 1821.

In his statements at Syntagma Square, after the parade, Minister Petrides noted that “the values that inspired the struggle of 1821 –freedom and the right to live safely in one’s own country– are once again relevant throughout Europe.”

“Greece is here today to remind us of these values and to defend them with skill and determination,” he added.
