Cyprus Condemns Deadly New Orleans Attack, Offers Solidarity with Victims

NICOSIA: Cyprus has issued a strong condemnation of the attack that occurred in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, which resulted in the deaths of 15 people and left dozens injured. The incident, which took place in the French Quarter, a well-known nightspot, has drawn international attention and expressions of sympathy.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Cyprus Presidency expressed its shock and dismay via a post on X, stating, “We are deeply shocked by the devastating attack in New Orleans, which has claimed many lives and left many more injured.” The statement continued with a firm denunciation of the violence, emphasizing the island nation’s solidarity with the United States and its people in the wake of the tragedy.

The attack occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day, casting a somber shadow over the celebrations in New Orleans.
