Nicosia: The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) announced on Thursday that it has submitted 33 comments and recommendations during the public consultation phase of the Cyprus National AI Strategy 2032. These proposals aim to transform the strategy's goals into tangible outcomes and actionable steps.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the CCS emphasized the constructive nature of its submissions, recognizing the significant efforts already undertaken to develop the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence. The society expressed its readiness to support the strategy's implementation by participating in various authorities, bodies, and committees expected to be formed for this purpose. The CCS is actively seeking an official role in these implementations.
The submission aims to fortify the framework for executing the AI strategy, ensuring that Cyprus transitions effectively from strategy formulation to execution. The 33 recommendations encompass essential areas such as sustainable funding over multiple years, project implementation and accountability, AI infrastructure, data governance, public procurement, workforce development, economic impact, regulatory preparedness, accessibility, equality, and the governance of emerging technologies like generative AI and AI agents.
