Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its latest forecast for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seaward from the Cyprus coastline, valid from the evening of July 19, 2026, until the evening of July 20, 2026. The forecast indicates that seasonal low pressure is impacting the region, with mainly fine weather expected along the coastal areas. However, there is a risk of local mist and fog patches over the southern and eastern parts during dawn.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1008 hPa. Despite the generally good visibility, it is expected to diminish to moderate or poor in misty conditions and become very poor in areas of fog. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 27°C, and no warnings have been issued for the forecast period.
The forecast details varying wind patterns across different coastal regions. On the west coast, winds will range from northwest to northeast, with a shift to southwest to northwest during the morning and afternoon. The state of the sea is expected to remain smooth to slight throughout. The south coast will experience southwest to northwest winds initially, transitioning to variable and then southwest to west, with similar sea conditions.
The east coast is forecasted to have southwest to northwest winds, shifting to southeast to southwest by morning, and south to southwest in the afternoon. The north coast will see a mix of southwest to west and southeast to southwest winds, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state.
