Nicosia: Cyprus Quarries Association and China Aggregates Association have formalized a memorandum of cooperation aimed at advancing the quarry sector. The agreement was signed during the event ‘Building Bridges for the Future of the Aggregates Industry – Cyprus and China’, organized under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).
According to Cyprus News Agency, the memorandum focuses on promoting sustainable and innovative practices, enhancing competitiveness and business outreach, exchanging know-how and technological advancements, and creating new business and investment opportunities. These objectives are expected to significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the aggregates industry and bolster Cyprus’ international industrial and business presence.
The Cyprus Quarries Association emphasized the importance of this partnership, noting that China, responsible for nearly 40% of the world’s aggregate production, is recognized for its advanced environmental practices, modern technology utilization, and high standards in health and safety. This collaboration is anticipated to leverage these strengths to foster growth and innovation within the sector.
