Nicosia: The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced the official launch of the CY-TRUST project, an initiative designed to enhance cybersecurity capabilities across key sectors in Cyprus. The project aims to establish Security Operations Centers (SOCs) in the energy, shipping, government, and small and medium-sized enterprise sectors to strengthen cyber resilience.
According to Cyprus News Agency, CY-TRUST is co-funded by the EU’s Digital Europe Programme and aims to connect with the Digital Security Authority for coordinated threat response. The launch event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Digital Security Authority Offices in Nicosia. The event targets executives, business owners, directors of enterprises and public organizations, as well as policymakers.
Security Operations Centers are central hubs that monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats in real time. The CY-TRUST project seeks to enhance these centers by integrating sector-specific capabilities, thereby improving Cyprus’ overall cybersecurity posture. The initiative is implemented by the Digital Security Authority in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other national and international partners.
The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn how to enhance their organization’s cybersecurity, gain insights into the role and benefits of Security Operations Centers, and network with experts and key industry stakeholders.
