Cyprus Braces for Seasonal Low Pressure Impacting Weather Conditions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, noting that a seasonal low pressure system is currently affecting the region. The forecast, which covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, predicts mainly fine weather. However, there is a possibility of increased low cloud coverage during the night and morning, particularly over the eastern regions, which could lead to local mist.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1013hPa. Visibility is generally expected to be good, though it may be reduced to moderate or poor in areas where mist is present. The sea surface temperature remains steady at 29°C, with no weather warnings reported for the forecast period.

The forecast details the wind conditions and state of the sea across different coastal areas. The west and south coasts are expected to experience winds ranging from 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, with sea conditions described as smooth to slight. The east and north coasts will similarly see winds ranging from 3 to 4, with the sea state remaining smooth to slight throughout the period.

Overall, while the seasonal low pressure is making its presence felt in Cyprus, the impact is predicted to be minimal with no significant weather disturbances expected. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
