Cyprus Braces for Seasonal Low Pressure Affecting Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating that a seasonal low pressure system is currently affecting the region. The forecast, which covers a period from 1800 on June 17, 2025, to 1800 on June 18, 2025, outlines expected weather conditions for an area extending 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the current atmospheric pressure is recorded at 1008 hPa (hectopascals). Despite the influence of the low pressure, the weather is expected to remain mainly fine throughout the forecast period. Visibility in the area is reported to be good, providing favorable conditions for maritime activities.

The forecast also notes that the sea surface temperature is currently at 23°C, a factor that could influence local marine conditions. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for the area, suggesting stable weather patterns despite the low-pressure system. This information is crucial for local authorities and maritime operators in planning and conducting activities around the island.
