Cyprus Braces for Seasonal Low Pressure Affecting Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that seasonal low pressure is currently affecting the region. This forecast covers a period from 0600 on June 21, 2025, until 0600 on June 22, 2025, detailing expectations for weather conditions up to 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1008 hPa (hectopascal). The weather is expected to be mainly fine throughout the day. However, low clouds and local mist are anticipated around dawn, which could impair visibility. The visibility is generally good, but it could become moderate to poor in areas where mist is present.

The sea surface temperature is noted to be 25°C, which is typical for this time of year. Importantly, there are no warnings issued for this period, suggesting that conditions are not expected to pose any significant risks to maritime activities. The forecast uses the Beaufort scale to describe w
ind conditions, although specific wind speeds were not detailed in the report.

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology’s forecast provides crucial information for maritime and coastal activities, ensuring that those at sea or near the coast are well-informed of any potential changes in weather conditions.
