Cyprus Braces for Low Pressure Weather Conditions Affecting Visibility

Nicosia: Seasonal low pressure is influencing the weather across Cyprus, as reported by the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. The forecast indicates mainly fine weather, but with the presence of increased low cloud coverage overnight and during the morning. Local mist and fog patches are anticipated, particularly over the southern and eastern coastal areas during night and dawn, potentially impacting visibility.

According to Cyprus News Agency, atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1009hPa. The sea surface temperature remains at 29°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period. Visibility is expected to remain good overall but may reduce to moderate or poor in mist and very poor in foggy conditions.

The detailed forecast for different coastal areas indicates varying wind patterns. On the West Coast, winds will shift from southwest to northwest during the afternoon, decreasing at night, and then vary in the morning. The South Coast will experience winds from the southwest to west, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with a reduction at night and a shift by morning. The East Coast will see similar wind patterns with slight variations. On the North Coast, winds will transition from southwest to northwest, becoming variable overnight before settling by morning.

All coastal areas are expected to experience a state of the sea ranging from smooth to slight throughout the forecast period, providing favorable conditions for marine activities despite the low-pressure system in the area.
