NICOSIA: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, highlighting the potential for isolated showers and thunderstorms over the western and northern coastal areas. The forecast covers an 8-kilometer distance seawards and is valid from 1800 on November 21, 2024, until 1800 on November 22, 2024.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1016hPa. The region is currently experiencing weak low pressure, which is contributing to the unstable weather patterns. During thunderstorms, winds may become variable, strong, and gusty, impacting visibility which may range from good to moderate or poor during showers.
The forecast does not include any specific warnings, indicating that while the weather conditions may be unsettled, they are not expected to be severe. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 23°C, providing a relatively stable maritime environment despite the anticipated weather changes
