Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast indicating that weak low pressure will begin affecting the sea area of Cyprus from 0600 on January 17, 2026, until 0600 on January 18, 2026. The region is expected to experience mainly cloudy conditions at times, with isolated showers anticipated. According to Cyprus News Agency, local showers with the risk of isolated thunderstorms are expected primarily from noon onwards. Despite the forecast of showers, visibility is predicted to remain good, although it could become moderate to poor during periods of rain. The sea surface temperature is currently reported at 19°C, and no warnings have been issued for this period. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1018 hectopascals.
