Cyprus and Saudi Arabia to Sign Energy Cooperation Memorandum

Riyadh:Cyprus’ Energy, Commerce and Industry Minister, Michael Damianos, is traveling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where on Monday he will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on energy cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Damianos' visit is part of Riyadh Energy Week. During his stay, he will participate in the 17th Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Forum (IEF17) and the 25th WPC Energy Congress, in addition to holding a series of meetings.

The signing of the Memorandum represents a significant step in deepening energy cooperation between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia. It aims to develop synergies and facilitate the exchange of expertise on energy matters of mutual interest.

On Sunday, Damianos will join a discussion at the IEF Ministerial Meeting focusing on investment and trade in sustainable energy solutions. He will also have separate meetings with Lebanon's Minister of Energy and Water, Joseph Saddi, and the Secretary General of the International Energy Forum, Jassim Alshirawi.

Following the MoU signing on Monday, Damianos is scheduled to meet Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh. Later, he will participate in a panel discussion at the WPC Energy Congress, addressing the 'Energy Trilemma' of achieving energy security, affordability, and environmental sustainability.
