Jakarta:A new round of discussions between Cyprus and Israel is scheduled to take place next week, focusing on the shared natural gas reservoir located between Cyprus' Aphrodite field and Israel's Ishai field.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the upcoming talks will involve technocrats from both countries, along with their legal advisers and the operators of the two gas fields. The discussions aim to reach an agreement on the shared reservoir, which geologically extends from the Aphrodite offshore block in Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) into the Ishai field within Israel's EEZ.

The Aphrodite field, situated in Block 12 of Cyprus' EEZ, is operated by the US energy company Chevron.
