Cyprus and India Strengthen Diplomatic Ties Through High-Level Talks

Nicosia: Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions to enhance the cooperation between Cyprus and India. Modi is on a two-day official visit to Cyprus.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, where President Christodoulides described the event as a “special, historic day.” He emphasized that the presence of the leader of the world’s largest democracy in Cyprus is a testament to the strong and historic bonds, friendship, trust, and substantive cooperation that have long united the two nations.

Modi, in turn, invited President Christodoulides for an official visit to India. He expressed optimism that under Cyprus’s presidency of the EU Council, new dimensions will be added to the relations between India and the European Union. Additionally, Modi highlighted that the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC) will pave the way for peace and prosperity in the region.
