Nicosia: The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) alongside Greece’s General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) has announced a collaborative effort aimed at bolstering cooperation between Cyprus and Greece in the fields of research and innovation. This initiative, under the European Partnerships Programme, introduces a £2 million joint funding call designed to promote the adoption of advanced technologies.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the programme provides funding up to £100,000 to encourage and support collaborations among research organisations and businesses in Greece and Cyprus. The joint call seeks to finance projects that align with the Smart Specialisation Strategy, focusing on areas such as digital technologies, agri-food, marine and maritime ecosystems, renewable energy, and health.
The initiative mandates a Transnational Network, which must consist of at least one research organisation and one enterprise from each participating country. This collaborative call is co-funded by
the Republic of Cyprus and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Cohesion Policy Programme ‘THALIA 2021-2027’.
Interested parties are required to submit their proposals by the 27th of February 2025 through the RIF IRIS portal. Further details and call documents are available for download via the provided link.
