Cyprus Air Command wraps up operational evaluation drill [VIDEO]

An operational evaluation drill of the Cyprus Air Command, which took place from April 24 to 27, 2023, with the participation of its entire active force, as well as the reserve, has been completed. According to an announcement by the National Guard General Staff, during the evaluation period, procedures for the deployment of air forces and Air Defence Units were put in motion and the Air Control System and Air Support Network were activated, among other things. Reconnaissance and targeting missions were also carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles on land and sea, Close Air Support missions, airlift operations, as well as parachute drops in cooperation with the Naval and Commando Commands. The Chief of the National Guard, Lt. Gen. Dimokritos Zervakis, congratulated the staff of the Air Command, as well as all the Commands involved, for the high level of preparedness and operational training, the morale, as well as the professionalism during the execution of the drill.
