Cypriot swimmer Nikolas Antoniou secured the second place and the bronze medal in the 100m. freestyle, 8th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships 2021, held in Lima, Peru.
According to the Cyprus Swimming Federation, after the silver medal in the 50m freestyle, Antoniou won the bronze in the 100m freestyle, writing a gold page in his career and the history of the swimming in Cyprus.
With this bronze medal, Cyprus ranks 15th in the medal standings (with one silver and one bronze), ahead of countries such as France, Korea, Greece and many others.
