Cypriot Presidency to Advance European Transport Agenda, Says Minister Vafeades

Brussels: The Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU is prepared to advance the European transport agenda, focusing on establishing and strengthening connections that will contribute to European unity and cohesion, according to Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades. The minister made these statements upon his arrival at the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (TTE) in Brussels, where he will present the Cypriot Presidency’s priorities for the transport sector.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Minister highlighted Cyprus’s commitment to focusing on connectivity, sustainability, and accessibility during its Presidency. He emphasized that creating strong and reliable connections is not just a technical issue but a cornerstone of European unity and cohesion, especially for a Union based on freedom of movement.

The Minister also expressed gratitude to the Danish Presidency for their significant contributions over the past six months, which have been crucial for the continuation of the Council’s work.
