Cypriot Adamantia Christodoulidou won the bronze medal in the -52kg judo category, marking Cyprus’ first success at the World School Gymnasiade in Bahrain.
According to a press release, Christodoulidou won Enkhmend Ulamabat from Mongolia with two waza-ari points, and afterwards Shona Guliyeva from Azerbaijan in the bronze medal match with an arm-lock technique.
“In the first match, I didn’t perform well. I knew I could do better, but nerves got the best of me. After my first win, my confidence grew, leading to my final victory,” Christodoulidou said.
