Helsinki: A delegation of over 40 representatives from Cyprus, including 18 startups and scaleups, is showcasing the potential of the country’s research and innovation ecosystem to a global audience of investors and entrepreneurs.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is participating in the international innovation and entrepreneurship festival SLUSH 2024, held in Helsinki, Finland, on November 20-21, 2024. The event gathers entrepreneurs and investors worldwide, providing a platform for innovative ideas to be presented and discussed.
The Cypriot delegation, led by RIF Board Member Mr. Andreas Andreou, includes over 40 participants who are seizing the opportunity to present their products and services. This initiative aims to highlight the innovative capabilities of Cyprus on an international stage.
In collaboration with organizations from Bulgaria and Greece, RIF co-hosted a side event titled “Breaking Boundaries: SEE Tech Meets The World at Slush.” During this eve
nt, RIF’s Director General, Mr. Theodoros Loukaidis, emphasized Cyprus’s role as a regional hub for innovation and technology. He also outlined the government incentives and investments that support innovative enterprises within the country.
RIF Scientific Officer A’ Ms. Georgia Kleanthous introduced the 18 companies from the delegation, focusing on their innovations and the opportunities they bring to the table. The event concluded with a networking reception, allowing businesses to connect with potential clients and investors, thus enhancing their prospects for international collaboration and growth.
