The Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, is will participate in the Informal Council of Ministers of Culture, which will be held in Caceres, Spain.
According to an announcement, the Ministers will discuss, inter alia, the role of Culture as a global public good and its inclusion as a separate goal in the agenda to be adopted for Sustainable Development after 2030.
The informal ministerial meeting on culture will be held at the San Francisco Cultural Complex in Cáceres on September 25-26.
The Spanish Presidency announced that the working sessions will focus on further progress towards sustainable management of cultural heritage, universal access to culture and its role as the territory’s backbone.
The aim of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU is for European ministers to sign the Cáceres Declaration, which represents a commitment to the defence of culture as a whole within the European project.
After the Informal Council wraps up its working session, the Deputy Minister of Culture, will hold a series of meetings with the Directors of important cultural institutions and organisations in Madrid, such as the Queen Sofia National Museum of Art, the National Archaeological Museum, the Prado Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
