CCCI to Host Roundtable on Work-Life Balance and Gender-Equal Policies in Nicosia

Nicosia: The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is set to hold its inaugural roundtable discussion as part of the CareDivide Project, with a focus on integrating work-life balance solutions and gender-equal workplace policies. The event is scheduled for Thursday, 20th March 2025, from 15:00 to 17:30 at the Chamber Building in Nicosia. It aims to engage employers, managers, HR professionals, representatives of labor market authorities, social partners, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the roundtable will explore several key discussion points, including how integrating work-life balance solutions and gender-equal workplace policies can boost organizational performance. Participants will delve into the benefits of supporting employees with caregiving responsibilities in terms of productivity, talent retention, and employee engagement. Additionally, the discussion will examine how initiatives like the CareDivide Project can help attract top talent, reduce employee turnover, and enhance a company’s reputation as an employee-centric organization.

The CareDivide Project, funded by the EU under the CERV Lump Sum Grants, promotes work-life balance solutions and the implementation of gender-equal workplace policies. It aligns with the EU’s Work-Life Balance Directive (2019), focusing on improving flexible working arrangements and carers’ leave. The project addresses the gender imbalance caused by the disproportionate caregiving responsibilities borne by women, which often limits their workforce participation and career growth. This imbalance not only affects gender equality but also impacts businesses and the broader economy.

Implemented in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain, the CareDivide Project includes key partners such as the CCCI and the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI). The project aims to equip businesses with the tools and strategies necessary to support employees with caregiving responsibilities, which can lead to increased productivity, improved talent retention, and the creation of a more inclusive and balanced work environment. By fostering collaboration between businesses, policymakers, and social organizations, the CareDivide Project seeks to build a more resilient and balanced labor market.
