Median age of patients in Famagusta Hospital at 62 years, youngest patient 32 years old

The median age of patients in Famagusta Reference Hospital stands at 62 years and the youngest patient is only 32 years old, Amalia Hadjiyiannis, Medical Director of the Hospital told the Cyprus News Agency.

 

She said that right now there are 68 patients in the Hospital and 6 of them are in the Advanced Care Unit (ACU). Another 110 people are at the Eden Rehab Center until they are fully recovered.

Cyprus reports 2 deaths, 668 new COVID cases on Thursday, 279 patients in hospitals

Cyprus Health Ministry on Thursday announced 2 deaths from COVID 19 and 668 new cases, bringing the total of cases to 65,233 and the total of deaths to 308. The positivity rate stands at 1.79%. The Ministry also announced that 279 patients are getting treatment in hospitals and 75 are in serious condition. The median age of the hospitalized is 58.6 years.

 

The 668 cases were detected from a total of 37,325 tests (rapid and PCR).

 

The deceased are a male, 75 years old who was not vaccinated and passed away at the Nicosia General Hospital and another male 89 years old, who was vaccinated with both doses and died at the Nicosia Hospital.

 

From the 308 deaths, 202 are male (66%) and 106 female (34%) and the median age is 78 years.

 

From the 75 patients in serious condition, the 36 are intubated , 3 are in ICU and 36 in ACU.
